Hello, friends!
In case you missed it: we’re doing a (short) fall version of the project starting next Tuesday, September 17. That’s fast and soon, so let’s get into it. Here’s a few ways to think about what kind of project you might do:
The “clean slate” project:
Maybe you have an incomplete project, want to finish up the odds and ends of your materials, or feel ready to organize your creative space in preparation for the full project starting early next year.
The just-for-fun project:
No expectations, just here to have a good time. Maybe you’re dabbling with a few different mediums, setting aside a short window of time each day to do something (anything!) that feels creative, or collaborating with someone else (say hi in the comments if you’re looking for art friends!).
The trying-something-new project:
Have you had your eye on something but not felt ready to commit? Three weeks is a good amount of time to give it an honest try without the pressure some feel of a full 100-day project.
The how-do-I-want-to-feel? project:
A lot of us are drawn to a creative practice because it makes us feel a certain kind of way. And that can change over time. I’ve seen friends fall out of love with their mediums and struggle to break it off the way you might with any long-term relationship. So: how do you want to feel? Is your current creative practice helping you cultivate that? If not, what do you feel drawn to?
This is in no way exhaustive – or you might be drawn to a mix of these ideas. What were you drawn to first, if anything? I’ll share some of my thoughts over on our Instagram later today or tomorrow if you want to “talk through it” with me there.
You might also be wondering: what are we doing to support participants? This is our first time experimenting with a shorter project in the “off-season” 😜. I’m feeling a need for connection and play (anyone else?), so I’m going to facilitate a Creative Playshop each week, details below. I’ve also been thinking about doing a podcast (you can listen to the past podcasts we did here and here) – is that interesting to you? Who would you want to hear from? Share in the comments!

Hi! I'm looking for art friends. I'm deciding whether to write song lyrics every day or do a watercolor sketch every day
I've got so many drawing books that I've been "saving" (for WHAT?!), so I'll begin working my way through Johanna Basford's "How to Draw Inky Wonderlands."
