Olivia Lin on how to have a consistent & joyful project 🎧
+ a workshop on how to share your project
Hello, friends! We’re back with the penultimate podcast episode (I love that word, penultimate. So few opportunities to use it!).
Before we get into the podcast, in yesterday’s post I asked if it would be helpful to do a workshop on how to document and share your project. Sounds like it’s a yes, so let’s do it! Here’s the link to sign up – think more ways to document and places to share than technical how-tos.
Back to the podcast! My guest today is
, an artist who experiments with different mediums and styles including abstract paintings, collage, brush lettering, mixed media, and more – and a long-time #The100DayProject Participant! You might remember that a few months ago, I reached out and asked the community to weigh in on who they’d love to hear from in this season of the podcast. So many of you said Olivia! I was excited to get to meet her and hear about her experience doing the project, what it’s meant to her, and get her advice for anyone thinking about doing the project.
Olivia’s key messages about the project:
Plan for success: setting up materials and simplifying the process makes building the creative habit easier and more accessible.
Trust the process: growth happens through experimentation and persistence, even when things don’t go perfectly.
Community & connection: sharing creative work fosters meaningful relationships and encourages artistic growth.
Embrace imperfection: progress matters more than perfection, and small daily actions can build up to significant achievements.
“Even in the most mundane days, there is something to be found if we look for it.” – Olivia Lin

Have you decided on your project yet? Quick recap in case you missed any of it: #The100DayProject starts February 23. You can start by making a list of ideas, then narrow it down by motivation: play, practice, or produce. We’ll be back soon to get more tactical. In the meantime, start thinking about how to set yourself up to get ready to start on the 23rd. You might experiment with your project idea to see if it “fits”, make sure you have your supplies or tools, or start tidying up or making a workspace, for example.
XO,
Lindsay
Thank you so much for having me on the podcast! I can't wait to begin this year's 100 Day Project! :)
