Hello again!
Over the past couple of days, we looked into playing and practicing as motivations for doing your project this year. Today, let’s talk about producing – working towards a specific outcome or goal. You might have a big creative dream (or several!). A book, an art show, a play, an album. Is this the year you’re ready to start working on it?
Working towards an outcome or goal can be big or small. You might use the container of #The100DayProject to work on something you don’t expect to finish. Progress is progress. The big stuff doesn’t happen overnight. For example, writing a book in 100 days would probably be ambitious for most of us. But committing to X number of words a day or Y number of chapters can be an excellent way to work towards that big dream for your project.
Here are a few questions for you to consider:
Are you considering participating to work towards a goal (or goals)? Is there something specific you’re hoping to accomplish?
How do your project ideas fit into those goals?
Are you able to make the time and energy it takes to work towards this goal right now? If that feels big or overwhelming, how might you break it down into more manageable pieces?
What are your biggest hopes and dreams for your creative self?
What comes up for you when you think about your future self?
We’ll be back tomorrow with Episode 4 of the podcast and over the next week we’ll continue to narrow down our project ideas.
Question for you – I’m thinking about putting together a workshop on how to document and share your project. Would this be helpful for you? If so, put your questions in the comments!
XO,
Lindsay
P.S. ICYMI yesterday!
I presented my experience from last year to my glass artist group, focusing on the transformation I experienced of moving from goal orientation to discovery and play. It was great fun and many folks indicated they're likely to join us this year.
Having a better way to document my project would be great!
a workshop on how to document and share your project? absolutely! I'm in!
