Hello, friends!
We’re doing a giveaway for Blick Art Materials gift cards over on our Instagram – here's a short video with the details:
I truly wish I could give every single one of you a gift card and that you can have the art supplies of your dreams! But there are two gift cards and almost 60K of you. So…I had an idea. This is an experiment! The thing about experiments is that we don’t know if or how they’ll work. We’re just trying something.
I have a hunch that you, like me, might have art supplies at home that you’re not using. And maybe you, like me, would probably rather see them go to a good home than to sit on your shelf and stare at you.
Here’s the experiment: a community organized art supply giveaway.
How it works: post in the comments what you would love to give away, what condition it’s in, preferences for shipping or in-person pick up, and how to contact you. Recipients, please offer to pay for shipping. Givers, up to you whether you take them up on it or not!
I’ll go first!
What I’m giving away: a set of 70 assorted half pastels from Sennelier
Condition: lightly used
Pick up or ship: preference for pick up in San Francisco
Contact: reply in the comments (first come first served) and I’ll reply to the winner with my email address
Friendly reminder of our community guidelines:
Be kind (to yourself and others) and assume good intentions
Be resourceful and make good choices for you – the rules are made up!
Be responsible for your experience – you’ll get out of it what you put into it
XO,
Lindsay
This is such a wonderful idea! I thought I could give away a set of Shiva artist oil paintstiks (20 large and 12 small) to a good home in Germany but have now discovered they are hopelessly dried out. If anyone could still find a use for them and would like them I would pay postage within Germany. LEPaulu@t-online.de
I could give away stacks of paper from around the world. I am from Quebec, Canada (South Shore of Montreal) and (for now!) Canada post is still shipping 😊. I would need a few days to get the package together (they are big sheets that I could cut to fit in an envelope. My means are limited, so it would be amazing if the person could pay for postage. Thank you!
