Hello, Artists,
Congratulations to all who are participating on Week 1 of #The100DayProject 🎉
Let’s do a quick recap and reflect:
How many days did you do your project this week?
What are you liking about your project?
What’s been the most challenging part so far?
What can you celebrate about your first week?
Share your work with the community:
If you’d like to submit an image for our Week 2 Reel, here’s where you can do that. Check our Instagram @dothe100dayproject later today to see the Week 1 Reel 📽️
Our theme this week is developing the creative mindset 🧠
“Remember not to get caught up in the idea that everything’s been written or said or explored before. Give yourself permission to explore it for yourself. You are a unique human being, put on the planet in this moment, and that can be enough.” – Ada Limon
Do you ever feel like “it’s all been done before”?
How might your unique human experience bring newness to something that has already been explored?
What do you need to give yourself permission to do this week?
What does “creative mindset” mean to you and how do you feel about the strength of your creative mindset?
We build our strength as we go – keep going!
XO,
Lindsay
P.S. Last chance to sign up for the Reels class with Anna-Alexia today for those of you who would like to learn how to make short videos of your project for Instagram 🎥
Last week, we worked on strengthening the container for our projects and building the daily habit. Here’s what you might have missed:
welcome to the daily prompts and making up your rules
claiming space for your creative work
planning ahead for how to do the work when life gets busy/messy/etc.
getting clear about how to share your work
taking care of your physical body as part of your creative self-care
making plans for experiencing art and play
I was able to finish a story in my first week! It feels great to get it down on paper because I’ve had this idea since last year. With a little editing, I’ll be able to share it on my substack soon 😄 the challenge I faced was researching another culture and language, but I enjoyed the process. This week, I’ll do some sketching and put together a moodboard.
This practice has given me the structure—daily—and the encouragement to make art. My mantra is just keep going, which is easier to do now that I say to myself, it’s all an experiment. I have given myself permission to be bad at something new, and frustrated with results. All I have to do to “succeed” is keep going. I can handle that. This is great. Thank you. @alisonporter914.
