Wei, I had good intentions for a 100dayproject but I am so off- track that I barely remember what I wanted to accomplish…big part was a week away end of February & I couldn’t bring art supplies.

So, I move on…show up for making art everyday…almost finished making a book (#4) for my grandaughter “Shiloh’s Book of Silly Bugs # 1-20”.

I’ll keep following this newsletter…I actually feel better now that “you asked & I replied”!

Color on!

I will let you be the judge. My #100 day plan now included rehab from a broken hip cause be a heavy door not opening for be and bushed me off balance to backwards hard, cold concrete surface. In hospital now equals first step...

A week or two in I realized I was looking forward to my day’s “task” and thinking it is fun. Now I’m at 22 days and see that my attitude and the judgements (fun/not fun) change. Not a surprise--I just keep going.

I started mine on February 1st and am going strong. I did 15 days of Asian elephants, 15 days of African elephants, and am now doing 15-30 days of giraffes. It's kicking my butt - giraffes are hard but I am persevering and can see growth with this continued practice. Loving the focus this event gives me during this time of year.

The enneagram workshop sounds awesome but it is on the night of an important Jewish holiday, Passover. Is there any way to experience it afterwards on line?

I did start out with a specific project goal which I stuck to until Day 10. Then I had to travel. I modified to my original overall goal of doing something creative in my sketchbook everyday. I am really proud of myself for my consistency - and it feels so good! I can hardly believe 22 days have passed already.

I’ve abandoned the 100 days at day 34 when I did mini-collages. Now I’m drawing birds and I see the development with daily practice. I really love chickadees so maybe that’s the difference: subject matter that speaks to my heart. I’ve had a day where I didn’t draw chickadees (pink ibis sketches rather than photo reference) and another day where I got so busy making a coptic stitch journal (first time woot woot) I completely forgot.

I do my drawing on the bus or metro most days. It is a pocket of time in which I am captive so that really helps. Straight lines are a challenge.

I didn’t finish yesterday, but am saying that’s okay. It sounds small but that is a big thing for me. I am the queen of unfinished business that usually picks at my ego like a burr in my sock.

I started out gangbusters on my Birds & Botanicals theme, faltered while on travel, picked it back up, faltered to do landscape design (which is an art form and on theme for botanicals & birds). On travel again with a slimmed down pack of ATC cards for small sketches that I can add color to when I get home. Still truckin’!
