I started my trio-based project today with writing (an imagined narrative between my grandfather, LeRoy Dale Allen, and his mother on the day she sent him to the McCune Home for Boys); tomorrow, I paint a more realistic moon than I have tried before. The theme is Same Moon Shining, which is the title of my book about family estrangement. The title comes from a letter another of my grandfathe'rs, my mother's father (Oscar Moon). He wrote to my grandmother while lying on his army bunk in 1945 that he felt so far away from all he had in the world, but he knew the same moon was shining on both of them. I didn't know LeRoy Allen (dad's biological father) or Clinton Shelton (his adoptive father), but I have done a lot of research and am writing about it all. So...long story short, I have three grandfathers on my mind as I start this project. Let's hope they send me something of their spirits and bless my creative work.

My theme is to do something related to painting, drawing, or writing each day, with the goal of being more improved at the end of the 100 days. It might even be something like watching a tutorial or video.

Setting aside 1 hour per day to explore all my unfinished business/projects.They include paintings, ideas for paintings and writing down daily observations. Also exploring what my dream job really is and dedicate time to make it a realization. Today will be what is on my easel. I also want to learn more about digital art.

I am going to take 30 minutes a day and read! I have so many books and I get distracted sometimes and start books and don’t finish them. I want that to stop! Audible is included as a part of this project as well.

A few years ago I made a butterfly book n a different 31 day challenge. I’ve wanted to try again and I’ve been subconsciously collecting all the supplies to create one! I love the creativity I can get with butterflies in my art and I love to sit and look at and feel the finished product. I’m happy to say I’m filling a new butterfly book 100 days leisurely and it makes me excited. I’ve even #’d it so I can look at it all in one place. Sending you 💯 vibes and love. Xo

Today I will start my first 100 Day Challenge.

This project will be mainly focused on a 5-year goal-based vision board. I plan to do poetry, short story writing, and art that will be part of and/or an extension of the vision board.

theme... my theme is Balance, my goal for the 100 days is to keep a treasury of family memories and traditions; all through the use of ART. It might take the form of quilting, photography, writing, blogging, fiber work, watercolors, journaling, Something TANGIBLE that can be kept and shared with my grandkids.

I choose to be creative with the walls of my house. It’s a new to us home and the walls are so old-fashioned and need to pop more. I love interior design, so I will get creative with my home.

I think my theme will be Discovery -- I've written 3 sets of Advent haiku, in 2019, 2020 and 2021, that represent radically different times in my life (not to mention they written right before and during the 1st 2 years of the COVID pandemic). Will be interesting to see how they differ, how they are the same, what they say about me. And of course writing new haiku along the way and learning about the haibun haiku tradition of writing from two masters of the writing craft, Basho and Natalie Goldberg

I have a printers drawer (with all the little cubbies in it) that I’ve been working on for awhile on and off. It will be filled with tiny handmade books and journals. The next 100 days will add 100 more!

My goal is to draw or paint daily. I am very comfortable with acrylics and somewhat with watercolours so I've got a watercolour course I'd like to work on.

My theme is healing. I'm a writer and I've written quite a bit about my mom's Alzheimer's journey. Through writing I understand things, know myself, and sometimes heal. I wanted to do something tactile for this challenge, so I'm sketching her face at different stages of her life. I expect this to be a different kind of healing.

Well, I've been trying to write and make a web page every day--even just a little. I intended to add drawing (sketching, doodling, whatever) to that next month. I guess my theme is to do these three things *every day*, not just most days. And, to have *increasing goals for each*, week after week. The first week I need to start small--somehow incorporate a little writing and a little doodling and a little development work each day that revolves around my novel, *Rex Dexter and the Dark Angel*. Having a central project and just playing around with it using my three mediums might help me get some momentum maintaining a habit of doing a little of each, every day.

**Note**: today, I better focus on getting *something* up on my RexDexter.com (or is it RexDexter.net?) website!
