Hello, and happy New Year to you and yours 💓
A number of you have reached out to me recently to ask about the start date of the 2023 round of #The100DayProject. (Your love for this project continues to delight and inspire me – thank you for that). The short answer is…I’ll share more soon, but plan to start in late February this year.
The longer answer is…I’m still working on it. Truthfully, I’m a little behind where I normally would be in the planning process.
I had hoped the holiday break would bring swells of creative energy (maybe you can relate?), but mostly it brought a lot of rest and reflection. Sometimes we need more dreaming before we’re ready to start doing. Making space and time to slow down are part of the creative process too.
After two years of writing daily creative prompts for the project, I’m feeling a little resistance between my desire to plan and schedule ahead of time (like I normally do, so that I have the time and energy to do my own project in addition to running it) and my need to do something different. You’ve got to leave a little blank space for the magic in the moment, you know? Much like our own creative practices, you can only plan so far.
As I always say about the project: the rules are made up! Make up rules that work for you. Since we’re making and breaking the rules as we go, we’ll be starting a little later than last year. I hope you don’t mind, but if you do you are welcome to start any time. And if you’re anything like me, may the extra time to dream and scheme treat you well 💓
More soon!
Love,
Lindsay
P.S. We’ve also had a number of new subscribers here – welcome! If we haven’t met, you can find more about me here and more about the project background and frequently asked questions here.
I would be one of your newest subscribers, Lindsay. I learned about the 100 day project through Suleika’s Isolation Journals last year, and enjoyed every single one of my 100 creative days. Looking forward to seeing what my inspiration is for this year. I do SoulCollage, including facilitating an ongoing group. I’m pretty good at coming up with my own prompts.
I appreciate the need to keep it fresh for the sake of your own creative juices. What if you open it up to your subscribers to generate possibilities for this years’ prompts?
💡Maybe an open-ended invitation to brainstorm.
🏆 Maybe take a poll for top favorites from past years.
❓Maybe . . . 🎁 ‼️
Oh Lindsay, thanks for sharing! I was just finalizing my text about my reflections on #The100DayProject 2022. What a coincidence to read about it starting again soon. Looking forward to it!
