Hi, friends – I’m so excited to share our first guest newsletter host of the year. Trish is a dear friend, creative, mom, coach, and so much more. I hope you enjoy reading her posts this week as much as I do. A little check in and then I’ll pass the baton to Trish!
Recap and reflect:
How many days did you do your project this week?
What are you feeling connected to lately?
As we are moving into the final third of the project, what are you focusing on?
What can you celebrate about where you are right now?

And here’s where to submit your image or video for our next Reel.

Now here’s Trish:
I’m Trish, a writer, life coach, and mama to my adorable jr. associates, ages 2 and 4. I’m also the gal responsible for putting together the Instagram Reels highlighting some of your recent works with @dothe100dayproject. There have been so many cool submissions, it’s super inspiring to see the vast array of art and expression being brought to life within these 100 days. Y’all are doing the dang thing, and I’m grateful to be along for the ride. In addition to the Reels, I jumped at the chance to loan my voice to the daily prompts this week!
In the intro to her podcast, Martha Beck shares that:
“Culture tells us to come to consensus; Nature asks us to come to our senses.”
I love this concept, and offer it as our theme for the week: Culture vs. Nature.
As a coach, I often work with clients within an exploration and recovery of their truest selves...their nature, if you will. One of the things I like about the word “recovery” is that it literally means to get back what was stolen; to salvage, or rescue.
I’ve found this includes unpacking some of the cultural messages we’ve absorbed into our belief systems over the years, particularly the ones that don’t align with our own values and thus cause quite a bit of suffering. This un/re-learning in order to rescue our most beautifully true selves requires curiosity, play, and mistakes (everyone’s favorite!). A daily practice with your creative project checks all three of those boxes.
How has this time spent creating strengthened or changed your connection with your own true nature?
How can the act of creating help us in recovering ourselves?
What, if any, cultural messaging has popped up for you while creating? How have you navigated that?
Where could you stand to remember that play, curiosity and even mistakes are the natural way of learning in life?
Cheering you on,
Trish
I’m thinking about the consensus of the Horseshow world, and what is expected versus the true nature of horses, and how they learn
Another way to think about "Nature" is what Robbin's suggests: "We're all, in every moment, trying to meet one or more of the 6 universal human needs":
