A few heartfelt thank yous โ

To
, for her creativity, community building, encouragement, and for also being a great friendTo our wonderful contributing writers
, , , , andTo our Facebook group moderators for all of their community building effort and care โ this year and in years past โ AnnMarie and Donna
To all of you for participating, for witnessing, for supporting the project and your fellow artists, for being part of it
Showing up is a real act of optimism, of bravery, and love. Thank you for showing up, in whatever way you have. Itโs all good.
You know, one of the things Iโm loving about getting older is that I am able to focus less on getting it โrightโ and more on being present, connecting with myself and others, and getting curious about the things that go โwrongโ instead of getting judgmental.
So, a few final prompts for you:
In what ways has your project helped you connect with yourself or others?
What are you curious about?
What do you want to let go of?
What can you celebrate?
Weโd love to hear from you if youโd like to share in the comments. AnnMarie had a great idea too โ if you have a place where youโre sharing your art, whether itโs a show or an online portfolio or store, please share. Drop a link and your best tip ๐
Until next time โย lots of love,
Lindsay
P.S. You can see all of our Reels featuring community art on our Instagram @dothe100dayproject. Day 100 will be out later today!
I did the 100 Day Project! (I missed maybe 4 days.) I chose trees as my project. I wanted to improve my skills at sketching and painting themโฆand I did. I even did a โstudyโ on crabapple trees and throughout the challenge I sketched/painted the phases: bare tree to buds, full bloom, forming leaves, to fully leafed out.
By having so many days to experiment, it gave me the freedom to try out all sorts of media; graphite, watercolors, acrylics, colored pencils, paint markers. Not that I couldnโt have done this anyway; it was something about making it a personal challenge for myself and giving myself creative freedom that kept me going and enjoying it!
Thank you for all your planning and encouragement!
I am a Toy Maker and my intention was to create crochet patterns that I can sell. I could never find the time and this was the perfect opportunity to set aside 2 hours daily for this task. I ended up having the time of my life. I unintentionally created a space where I could play with my own toys. I got to refine my skills and got to learn a whole bunch of news techniques. This experience turned into a whole other thing, but I managed to keep to that schedule for the entire 100 days even though I didnโt consistently post online.
My big takeaway is that I had to slow everything down in order to speed my process up.
Thank you so much for these daily prompts. I have read every one and they have been a tremendous help along the way.
I am genuinely amazed at what I have done and itโs like a world has opened up to me that I never knew existed. Itโs www.instagram.com/3stitches_unravelled if youโd like see.
I canโt wait for next year!
